We do not know what circumstances put a woman in a position where she is considering an abortion and it is none of our business. Society can be very cruel and judgemental. Programs that help mothers with children are constantly being cut and people that need these programs to feed and support their children are victimized by the same people that want to eliminate programs that provide birth control and family planning services. | |||

| Generally it takes money to win an election. Money influences the outcome and that puts big money and the top 2 percent at an advantage. Efforts to restrict voter registration and voter eligibility generally only favor the party of the top 2 percent. Money pays for fake news and fake conspiracy theories. People should be automatically registered to vote when they obtain a driver's license. We need to make voting as easy as possible so that elected officials are truly representative of the people in their district. | |||

| Inmates sentenced to capital punishment cost taxpayers more than those sentenced to life. Minorities are disproportionately sentenced and DNA evidence has proven that we sometimes convict the innocent. We also need to shut down for profit prisons because we should not be incentivizing high incarceration rates. There is too much room for corruption. On the subject of enforcement of immigration laws by local officials, I am against it because it fuels unreported crime because victims will not report crime or testify if they fear deportation. People should feel free to report crime without fearing the local authorities. | |||

| Our nation's history shows us that the way to stimulate the economy is by ensuring that consumers have money to spend. The minimum wage must be a livable wage because the taxpayers subsidize the payroll of low wage employers by providing assistance to their workers in the form of food stamps, medicaid, subsidized housing and the list goes on. Taxpayers easily subsidize the employees $2.00 for every $1.00 paid by the employer, this is corporate welfare. The rich reap the benefits while taxpayers pay the bill. As for drug testing, the states that do it are not seeing a benefit. | |||

Students from poor neighborhoods do not have the luxury of having parents to help them with homework, placing a larger burden on their teachers. Immigrants that meet the time requirements for instate tuition have been contributing to our tax base just like residents. We should be trying to increase the education level of everyone living in Nevada. Increased education leads to hope and opportunity for a better future. Lack of hope and opportunity leads to crime. | |||
